Some of the unplanned and unexpected experiences are something we cherish forever. One such expedition was Kathirvel Vaathu Kadai for me.@srijith_murugan was the one who suggested I try this place since I was in that side of the world. And, I’m going to be ever grateful to him for suggesting this place. It was during lockdown time when only takeaways were allowed. Since, it’s in the highway one could sit in their vehicle and have it, too.The whole stretch of this highway is populated with Vaathu Kadais and Kathirvelu does stand out with the amount of people waiting for their turn to place the order.Parottas (₹15/pc) and Idlies (₹10/pc) are the side dish. Their Vaathu (Duck) gravy (₹120/plate) is the main dish. Their duck gravy was spot on with spices and was mildly spicy which was just the way I like my gravies to be. The duck meat pieces were soft. The pieces that had simmered in the gravy for a long time had taken up all the flavour very well. Since, the theme was Duckended up having the Duck egg (₹15/pc), too. Missed having their duck roast.
