Jayaram Hotel, Puthur:

The Pandemic has taken a toll on every individual, be it emotional or financial or mental. Puthur Jayaram is no exception. Since, it’s located on a highway, the usual crowd isn’t seen. They’ve also stopped their signature meals. Their dinner menu is now an all-day menu. I’d called ahead before going and they were clear with their communication saying only Parottas, Prawns and Chicken Fry was available. I was okay with that. In fact, I was okay with having anything in that long stretch of nothing to eat kind of highway.

Parottas were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside as a result of shallow frying. You can’t skip watching the scene of Parottas being fried as you are entering the premise. Miss the legendary scenes of fish and prawns being tawa fried. I’m sure it’s just a matter of time when the mess gets back to normalcy in near future as things have opened up by now.

The Prawns were exceptionally good this time. Honestly, my last few visits to Jayaram Hotel hasn’t been satisfactory. But, this time everything was too good. The Chicken fry or as they lovingly call as “Chilli” was good. Finished the meal with an Omelette which I didn’t become a fan of because of onion overdose. But, I’m sure onion lovers will celebrate it.

Total bill was around ₹758 along with a few repeat orders and takeaways.
