DUM BIR, DELIVERY ONLY

The brand Dum Bir is from the house of KCK foods. So, I wasn’t even sure if I should doubt about my experience before placing the order. What was confusing was what to order. I ended up choosing the Bento Box against their Individual packs. Of course, I had no need for their Party Packs. I could have ordered individual packs with sides from Kappa Chakka Kandhari. But, the bento made my life easier by giving all necessary accompaniments that would suffice a greedy for food person like me would need.

Two different cuisines under one brand. It’s not easy to achieve the perfection that is expected by consumers of two different spectrum. But, Dum Bir excels easily. Trust the able hands behind the brand. Honestly, I thought there must be some common thread connecting but even the chutneys and dips were different in both the Bento Boxes. Both the cuisines given the due respect they deserve. Amazing!

The Prawn Thalassery Bento (₹629) came with an individual box of the short grained Thalassery Style Biryani with decent amount of Prawns. The usual suspects in a Thalassery style Biryani Dates Pickle, Pachadi and Chammandhi were also present neatly packed separately. Prawn Roast and Chicken Fry were in true blue Kerala style. The Kerala Parotta and the Chicken Curry paired well. How can one not finish this satisfying meal with their signature Caramel Custard? 

The Lucknowi Mutton Bento (₹595) came with an individual box of the long grained Mutton Biryani. The accompaniments for the Biryani that was packed separately were Mint Chatni, Curd and Sirke Wali Pyaaz. The Shammi Kebabs were too good. The Paratha went well with both the  Tadka Dal and Butter Chicken present in the box. The grainy textured Phirni is sure to leave it’s impression on you.
