The place actually has no name or no name board. Since, we asked for it a couple of times, they said you can call it as Bismi. There’ll be no board for the same. The Push Cart is located outside Currimbhoys in Anna Nagar. People kept thronging here. Looks like locals here know it very well. The owner says he’s been doing this for 3 decades in different locations in Anna Nagar. In the present location he’s 3 years old.
One of my friend who is a regular here was the person who suggested this place to me. And, I liked the food here. Simple, clean, tasty, affordable. Ambience depends on the weather that day. It’s a push cart, so one should know what to expect of it.
The format is simple. A plate of Rice + Vegetable of the day + Sambar + Rasam would cost you ₹40. Add ons are – Omelette (₹10) / Fish Fry (₹30) / Beef (₹30) / Chicken (₹30) / Mutton (₹30).
I had the Chicken Rice Combo. Very subtle and homely flavours. Light on the stomach. The Omelette was good. Tasted mutton from a friend’s plate which was soft. The Sambar was very good. I didn’t have space in my tummy for more. My lunch companions enjoyed their food, too. Overall, certainly worth the try. Recommend takeaways for those who are not comfortable standing and eating.
Paid ₹320 for the 4 of us. The serving is limited. They are open for Breakfast from 7 AM onwards and lunch from 12.30 PM onwards.
