Nithya Amirtham, Mylapore:
I wrote about this place first in my Mylapore Food Walk post, mentioning their “Kozhukattais”, which I’ve been a fan of ever since my first visit. After that, I have never written a write-up about this place but those who are close to me or have been following me closely will know my connection with this place. Personally, Nithya Amirtham is my comfort food zone. I would have loved to write about their Meals, but I’ll have to make do with this Breakfast visit alone.
Nithya Amirtham Restaurant is in Mylapore near Kabaleeshwarar Temple. Nithya Amirtham has an Express counter in N.M.Road. Arumbakkam and Taylor’s Road branch have their Sweets and Savouries section alone. It’s a no frills place.
The Mega Cap shaped Ghee Roast (₹86.67) that comes with 3 types of Chutneys and Sambar tasted divine. The Green Chutney sure is the winner among all the 3 on the plate. But, their Idli (₹39) is something that tastes the best (my preference) with their Sambar. Also, I enjoy it most with their Kadala Curry. Idli with Kadala Curry is available only during evenings. Their Baloon-y Poori (₹58.10) is something that I don’t miss to order, be it while dining-in or ordering-in.
It’s only apt that we finish such a meal with a coffee. The Naatu Sakkarai Mini Coffee (₹22.86) tasted good with a good after taste. But, I’m not sure if I’m psychologically ready to shift from Refined Sugar to Naatu Sakkarai, yet.
Totally paid around ₹275, including a few more items.
